EdiFi understands that mistakes can happen when balancing your checking account - that's why we offer Overdraft Protection options for the following transactions:
At EdiFi, you can link your checking account to your savings account(s) and we will automatically transfer available funds from these accounts(s) when the balance in your checking is too low to cover an item. The fee for each transfer is $3.00.
Note: Transfer will not occur if there are insufficient funds in the linked account and the
item will be returned.
With our Overdraft Courtesy Pay service, anytime a check, ACH, or an online bill payment transaction is attempted from your checking account and the balance in the account (and other linked accounts) is not sufficient to cover the item, we may pay that item at our discretion* and draw your account negative.** The fee is $25.00 per presentment.
If you meet the requirements, you will automatically be eligible for the service – there is no need to opt-in. If you do not meet the requirements in a given month, you will be considered again the following month.
All amounts must be paid within the 45 days of the first day they become negative to keep the checking account in good standing.
Please be aware that debit card transactions are not automatically covered under the Overdraft Courtesy Pay service – you must opt-in for these transactions to qualify. You can opt-in to this service by contacting the Contact Center or in person at any EdiFi location.
